Policing of Parked Vehicles Castlecliff Reserve
Gregory Soar made this Official Information request to Whanganui District Council
The request was partially successful.
From: Gregory Soar
Dear Whanganui District Council,
I have lived across the road from Castlecliff Reserve for four years.
Unauthorised vehicles are not permitted on the reserve and it is signposted as such.
I have never seen an enforcement action taken even though damage is done while driving to the parking spot ( I understand the Police enforce moving vehicles and Council parking wardens enforce stationary parked vehicles as told by WDC staff ).
I therefore request to know how many enforcement actions have been taken on parked vehicles without access / use authority from 16 March 2016 until 15 March 2020.
Yours faithfully,
Gregory Soar

From: Kellie Brougham
Whanganui District Council
Dear Mr Soar
I acknowledge your email of 7 April and your follow up email of 15 April.
As you will be aware, most Council staff are working from home during the
Alert Level 4 lockdown. This restricts Council in being able to
sufficiently address your concerns and accordingly it will take us a
little longer than usual to prepare a response to your request for
enforcement action. We don’t yet know what the Alert Level 3 status will
look like to be able to progress this matter but I have made a diary entry
to touch base in a week’s time to provide you with an update.
Yours sincerely
Kellie Brougham
