Dear Kevin,
I refer to your request which we received on 18 December 2019, relating to
dates for Auckland citizenship ceremonies in 2020.
In order to respond to your request, I consulted with the council’s Arts
Community and Events department to provide relevant information.
I have been advised that the list of ceremony dates the council has
is based on the estimated number of people applying for citizenship in the
local board areas. From time to time, there may be requirement to change
the ceremony dates dependant on the number of candidates approved in the
local board areas.
For this reason, inquiries concerning dates of future citizenship
ceremonies are best directed to the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA)
as they hold the information required to advise on confirmed dates and
numbers of ceremonies.
Furthermore, if you have any questions about your own citizenship
ceremony, these are also best directed to the DIA.
Therefore, I can advise that in accordance with section 12 of the Local
Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) we have
transferred your request to the DIA to respond directly. Our apologies for
the delay of this transfer.
If you would like to contact Auckland Transport, their contact details

your request.
