Lisa Dymond made this Official Information request to Victoria University of Wellington

The request was partially successful.

From: Lisa Dymond

Dear Victoria University of Wellington,

Kia Ora

I attended the VUW Open day and saw a protest to the Forced Swim test on the footpath opposite the Hunter Building.

Please provide the following information:

1.How many animals are tested per year on the swim test?
2. How many animals survive this test?
3. What happens to the animals following from your testings - both living and deceased?
4. What is the process followed for deceased animals?
5. What new insight is gained by repeating the Forced swim test?
6. How many VUW students refuse to perform the swim test?
7.How much does it cost to perform the test per semester?
8.Specifically what other animals are tested on at VUW for?
9. Which departments allow the testing?
10. Does the Ethics committee hold regular reviews to incorporate public perception of vivisection?
12. How much does it cost to perform each forced swim test?
