Request for information 2018-374 
I  refer  to  your  request  for  information  dated  12  December  2018  which  was  received  by  Greater 
Wellington  Regional  Council  (GWRC)  on  12  December  2018.  You  have  requested  the  following 
information: 
1. Can I please have all information you hold on public transport related (for all modes run by, 
part of, contracted by, organised by, etc Metlink) injuries for December 2016 through to now. For 
example but not limited to: raw numbers, statistics, incident reports, investigations, etc 
2. Can I please any reports, actions, educational materials, decisions etc which relate to improving 
safety, developing a safety culture in Metlink and sub contractors, which were created since 
December 2016 or produced earlier but are still current 
3. Any information you hold about how successful any of these safety initiatives have been since 
December 2016 
4. What Metlink's sub contractors obligations are to have a safety culture in their organisations and 
what the ongoing training requirements are for the sub contractors staff are around safety. What 
obligations do the sub contractors have to provide Metlink with safety incidents?

It  is  necessary  for  GWRC  to  extend  the  time  available  to  it  to  respond  to  your  request  to 
15 February 2019.  This  decision  is  made  pursuant  to  section  14  of  the  Local  Government  Official 
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (the Act) on the basis that consultations necessary with you to 
clarify your request and for us to make a decision on your request are such that a proper response to 
your request cannot be reasonably made within the original 20 working day time limit.
