Thank you for your email of 6 August 2018 requesting data from the Performance-Based 
Research Fund Quality Evaluation results under the Official Information Act 1982. 
 
Your request has been considered pursuant to the Official Information Act and we may not 
be able to provide all the information requested, as the data contains personal information 
that would identify individuals, evaluative material, and may provide any organisation that 
has the information an advantage in a competitive funding process. 
 
We are happy to provide you with the count data set out in point 4 of your email, that is: 
“(4) For each TEO contributing to PBRF: 
    (a) The name of the TEO, 
    (b) A count of the number of evidence portfolios submitted where 
‘ContainsConfidentialResearch’ is true 
     (c) A count of the number of evidence portfolios submitted where 
‘ContainsConfidentialResearch’ is false." 
      
Regarding bullet (d) "A count of the number of evidence portfolios submitted that have been 
marked as deleted.” Can you please clarify this part of your request as the Tertiary Education 
Commission (TEC) does not mark evidence portfolios as “deleted”. 
It appears likely that your original request will need to be amended to enable us to respond.
