Dear Mr Randle
Time extension - request for information OIA 2018-013
I refer to your request for information dated 21 January 2018, which was received by Greater
Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) on 21 January 2018. You have requested the following
information:
“As a regular bus user on this route and a PT advocate I am interested in understanding why
Metlink has closed this bus stop .
1) Can I also please have a copy of any and all accident and/or safety incident reports that are
associated with the closure of this bus stop ?
2) Can I please have a copy of any and all reports and/or correspondence on the "safety issues" that
lead to and/or recommended that this bus stop be closed ?
3) Can I please have a copy of any and all reports on the recommended changes that are required to
address the safety issues at this bus stop ?”
GWRC’s response follows:
There is no formal accident or safety incident report or any report recommending changes to the bus
stop, other than the information contained in the correspondence between the parties involved in the
management of the issue.
To provide copies of the correspondence on the issue, it is necessary for GWRC to extend the time
available to it to respond to your request to 2 March 2018. This decision is made pursuant to section
14 of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (the Act) on the basis that
your request for copies of the correspondences necessitates a search through a large quantity of
information and may require internal or external consultation to make a decision on your request,
and that meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of GWRC.
EXTENSION TO 2018-013
You have the right under section 27(3) of the Act, to make a complaint about this extension to the
Ombudsman.
Yours sincerely
Wayne Hastie
