Re: Electoral Roll ratepayers 
 
I refer to your email dated 17 December 2012 requesting electoral rolls for the identification 
of ratepayer electors.  
 
We refer you to the Electoral Commission’s website, elections.org.nz , which confirms that 
Electoral Rolls are publically available at certain public libraries or any Registrar of Electors 
Office.  PostShops also display the electoral rolls for their local area. 
 
As a result, we refuse your request under Section 17(d) of the LGOIMA Act 1987 as “the 
information requested is…publicly available”.
