Thank you for contacting AT on 20 June 2017 with a request for the following information:
The security camera footage of the 392 bus for around 12:30-12:45pm on 20 June 2017.
Auckland Transport can advise that the bus operator, Ritchies Murphy Transport Operations, were able to locate
the footage you requested. After reviewing the footage, we can confirm the following sequence of events:
A woman gets on at 12.27pm with a baby in her arms and pushing the empty pram. She parks the pram
in the wheel chair space and initially sits opposite. She then moves to the seat at the front left of the
bus. There is no sign of a wallet being dropped during that period.
A male passenger gets on the bus at 12.31 and sits further back on the bus. He does not even look at
the pram.
The woman and baby get off the bus at 12.35pm. There is no sign of a wallet being dropped or taken
during that period.
The other passenger then gets off a couple of minutes later and does not stop or pick up anything on his
way out (in case the wallet was dropped and he saw it).
Back at the Interchange, the driver receives a call at 12.45pm and is seen immediately looking
throughout the inside of the bus, but finds nothing.
Under the Privacy Act 1993 any information or footage held can be supplied directly to the customer affected.
However, the footage or information may be subject to redaction of anyone else captured in the footage.
