[FYI request #6017 email]
Dear Mr Kitson
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
CAS-503641-R2G0M6
Thank you for contacting Auckland Transport on 18 June 2017 requesting information relating to Scenic
Drive, Titirangi.
At the outset, we wish to apologise for the delayed fulfilment of your request.
Our response to your request for information is as follows:
I'd like more information about the stretch of Scenic Drive which runs between Titirangi Road
and the Woodlands Park Road turn off. How many accidents have been recorded on this stretch
of road in the last 10 years? Are there any recorded fatalities on this stretch of road during that
time?

A search was conducted within the NZ Transport Agency Crash Analysis System (CAS) for all crashes
(fatal, serious, minor and non-injury crashes) reported by NZ Police over the past 10 years 2007-2016
on  Scenic  Drive  between  the  Titirangi  Rd  and  Woodlands  Park  Rd  intersection.  The  search  also
included  crashes  that  have  been  currently  recorded  in  CAS  for  year  2017  as  at  30  June  2017.
Please note that recent crashes may not yet be recorded in the CAS system.
It was found that there were no fatal crashes recorded on this stretch of road within the search criteria.
The CAS search found three serious, five minor and 16 non-injury crashes had been reported on this
stretch of road within the search criteria.
Please refer to Appendix 1 for a summary of the findings.
Also has any recent study been conducted to determine if this road remains structurally sound
as we know there are geotechnical issues in the area?

Auckland Transport confirms that no geotechnical investigations have been done for this site.  There
was a site walk over completed last year but that does not provide information on structural integrity.
We trust the above information has addressed the matters raised however, should you believe that we
have not responded appropriately to your request, you have the right in accordance with section 27(3)
aucklandtransport.govt.nz

of the LGOIMA to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review
in regard to this matter.
If you have any further queries, please contact Auckland Transport on (09) 355 3553 during business
hours, quoting Local Government Official Information request number CAS-503641-R2G0M6.
Yours sincerely
Customer Liaison Team Leader
