Thank you for your email of 9 April 2026 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wel ington City Council (the
Council) requesting information regarding noise complaints made against the venue at 31-35 Dixon
Street
. Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA). Please find my response below.
1. I am seeking a list of al noise complaints made against the venue at 31-35 Dixon Street
(known as El Barrio and Eva Pub) since 01/01/2023. Please include for each complaint: the
result, and whether any action was taken alongside the conclusion or reason provided by the
guard.
Please find attached, as
Appendix 01 to my response, a table containing the complaints made. Some
information has been withheld pursuant to section 7(2)(a) of the LGOIMA, to protect the privacy of
natural persons.
As per section 7(1) of the LGOIMA, I do not consider that in the circumstances of this response, the
withholding of this information is outweighed by the other considerations which render it desirable to
in the public interest to make the information available.
2. I am also seeking al manuals/guidelines for assessing excessive noise. If there are any
particular guidelines for assessing venues such as bars or clubs, please also provide these.

3. I am seeking al granted resource consents for the aforementioned venues relating to any
activities involving the generation of noise (eg music).
There are no granted resource consents for the site 31-34 Dixon Street relating to noise.
