Thank you for your request to the Education Review Office requesting information
about Shiloh Christian Academy. On 14 April 2026. The following parts of your
request were transferred to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry):

* All records relating to the registration, licensing, or review of Shiloh Christian
Academy.
* Any correspondence between the Ministry and the school concerning
compliance with legal or safety requirements.
* Any internal Ministry communications discussing concerns about corporal
punishment at the school.
3. **Complaints and Notifications**
* Records of any complaints received by the Ministry regarding Shiloh
Christian Academy.
4. **Regulatory Action**
* Any consideration, discussion, or decision regarding suspension,
cancellation, or conditions placed on the school’s registration.
* Records showing what actions were taken following any identified breaches
(including corporal punishment or abuse concerns).

We have carried out a thorough search in our records and could not find any
information relating to Shiloh Christian Academy held by the Ministry of Education.

In addition, we have carried out a thorough search of information related to Shiloh
Christian Academy held by Archives NZ. There are four files related to Shiloh
Chistian Academy related to the period 1980-1997 held by Archives NZ. You can find
copies of two of those files at the link below. Therefore, I am refusing part of your
request under section 18(d) of the Act as the information is publicly available.

The remaining two files related to Shiloh Christian Academy held by Archives NZ
related to the period 1980-1997 are restricted. We have requested copies of these
files from archives NZ, and we are still searching these files for information in scope
of your request.
Therefore, the Ministry needs to extend the timeframe for responding to your request
under section 15A(1)(a) of the Act, as the request is for a large quantity of
information or necessitates a search through a large quantity of information,
and15A(1)(b) of the Act, as consultations necessary to make a decision on the
request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit. You can now expect to receive a further response to your request
on or before 11 June 2026, which is an extension of 20 working days.

accordance with section 28 of the Act. You can do this by writing to
