Thank you for your request for information made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the 
Act) to the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department), received on 11 March 2026. You 
requested the following information: 
1.  I request to see any DIA policy documents supporting the recommendation of a 
single prefab supplier to Oranga Marae applicants by DIA funding advisors. 
2.  If applicable, please supply evidence that a fair and transparent procurmenet 
process has been undertaken for a single supplier, or if not applicable, explain why 
this has not occured. 
3.  Please provide all email correspondence from Oranga Marae staff recommending 
prefabricated buildings and Advance Build as a specific supplier to Oranga Marae 
applicants. 
Extension of your request  
Under section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, the timeframe to respond to your request has been 
extended by 16 working days to 5 May 2026. This is because the consultations necessary 
to make a decision on your request are such that we cannot respond within the original time 
limit.  
 
The Department will endeavour to provide you with a response earlier if possible.
