Subject: Notes from RMA Officials meeting today
Hi MfE
Notes from RMA Officials, 11 Feb 11.45am
OUT OF SCOPE
OUT OF SCOPE
Auckland
Discussion on a potential city centre variation – Minister decided to not progress that but to use his s360J
RMA Reg making power to look at rules in the city centre which are impacting on development capacity
and economic growth. MfE advised this would be a quicker/simpler way to address any issues in the city
centre.
The Minister decided that any uplift in development capacity in the city centre that could potentially result
from the use of the RMA regulation making power, can be counted towards the 1.6m PC120 requirement.
Discussed consultation diagram, Minister agrees with proposed approach.
Action: MfE to update the
diagram to be clear on what is a new or current step in the process.
Action: MfE/HUD to update Cabinet paper based on the above. The Cabinet paper needs to be clear that
submissions/consultation will be reopened.
Updated Cabinet paper to be provided to the office at
2.30pm today (11 Feb).
