Auckland Regional Transport Committee (ARTC): Public Nominations
Thank you for your official information request concerning ARTC Public Nominations which
we received on 18 January 2026. The specific details of your request and our responses are
below:
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad and pay rate as well. Also,
how many applications you have received for each of the role from the public and how
many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of
women etc for your role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have
interviewed. Also, can I request to view the appointment letter if there is one sent to the
appointee. I am happy for you to remove all the personal information. Further, How
many vacancies are you looking to fill?
Auckland Council and Ministry of Transport jointly sought expressions of interest for the
role of ARTC Chair in late 2025. This call for expressions of interest is in preparation for the
new transport governance structures anticipated under the
Local Government (Auckland
Council) (Transport Governance) Amendment Bill (the Bill). One of these structures is the Auckland Regional Transport Committee, which will be
comprised of:
• An independent chair, appointed by the Mayor of Auckland and Minister of
Transport
• 3 members of Auckland Council’s Governing Body appointed by the Mayor of
Auckland
• 3 members appointed by the Minister of Transport.
The council has nominated its three committee members. The anticipated legislation
has not yet passed, and the committee is not yet established.
