OFFICIAL INFORMATION REQUEST – 368813 
 
I refer to your official information request of January 19, 2026 regarding the total amount of 
ratepayer-funded  expenditure  incurred  by  the  Council  on  food  and  catering,  excluding 
routine workplace provisions of tea, coffee, and milk supplied for staff. 
Under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA), Council is 
required to make a decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day it was 
received.  Unfortunately,  it  wil   not  be  possible  to  meet  that  timeframe.  We  are  therefore 
advising you of an extension of time to February 27, 2026.  
This extension is necessary because the consultation with other parties is needed to make a 
fair and accurate decision / due to the current state of emergency, the staff member assigned 
to  your  request  is  currently  assisting  with  Civil  Defence  Emergency  Management  (CDEM) 
activities.  There  are  no  other  available  staff  with  the  necessary  knowledge  to  manage  the 
sensitive aspects of this request.  
You  are  entitled  to  seek  an  investigation  and  review  of  this  decision  by  the  Ombudsman.
