Official information request for Measles and/or Pertussis Data 
I refer to your official information request received by the New Zealand Institute for Public Health 
and Forensic Science Limited (‘PHF Science’) dated Tuesday 9 December 2025 for the following 
information: 
“I note the monthly notifiable disease surveillance report used to have ethnicity and immunization 
status. For example for measles:

Would you kindly share the ethnicity and immunisation status information on the monthly 
notifiable disease surveillance report? 
If they are no longer published, would you please share the minutes, memos correspondence, 
emails etc regarding the decision to remove this information.” 
The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days 
after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit 
and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to 
Friday 6 February 2026.  
This extension is necessary because consultations are necessary to make a decision on your 
request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
