Thank you for your request made via email on 1 December 2025 in which you requested the
following:

Could you please let me know how many cases are currently still under the CAC’s
consideration and how many CAC you have.
Which case has been with the CAC the longest awaiting determination, e.g how many days
now? What is the average timeframe for the CAC to issue an outcome? Do you have any
policies or procedures that set expected turnaround times for CAC decisions?
We have considered your request under the OIA.
Information being released
As of 15 January 2026, there was 189 active cases in a CAC process. There are 9 CACs
across these 189 active cases.
The oldest active case in a CAC process was opened in May 2022. In 2025 the average
timeframe for a CAC case to be closed is 472 days.
The REA has a CAC Handbook; this includes the expected turnaround times for various CAC
decisions.
