Request for Information under the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (the Act) (the LGOIMA)
Thank you for your email dated
19 October 2025 requesting the following information:
1.
I have been informed of a pending international trip for a KCDC employee
or more. Can you please provide all correspondence email, meeting,
notes, or conversation related in responding to the request?
Some of the information requested is withheld under section 7(2)(f)(i) of the
LGOIMA: the withholding of the information is necessary to maintain the
effective conduct of public affairs through the free and frank expression of
opinions by or between or to members or officers or employees of any local
authority in the course of their duty.
Some of information requested is withheld under section 7(2)(g) of the LGOIMA
in order to maintain legal professional privilege.
In both instances, I am satisfied that the withholding of this information is not
outweighed by public interest considerations in section 7(1) favouring release.

The information requested is withheld under the following grounds:

section 7(2)(f)(i) of the LGOIMA: the withholding of the information is necessary
to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free and frank
expression of opinions by or between or to members or officers or employees
of any local authority in the course of their duty
•
section 7(2)(h) of the LGOIMA: withholding this information is necessary to
enable Council to carry out, without prejudice or disadvantage, commercial
activities
•
section 7(2)(i) of the LGOIMA: withholding this information is necessary to
enable Council to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage, negotiations
(including commercial and industrial negotiations).
I am satisfied that the withholding of this information is not outweighed by public
interest considerations in section 7(1) favouring release.
