2025 Student Services and Fees
Questionnaire
Start of Block: Default Question Block
Intro Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University would like your opinion about how the
compulsory student services fee supports your success and how much the student services fee
charges should be for 2026. This survey asks you to rank the services that are funded by the
student services fee in order to gauge their value to you as a student and to student life more
broadly and then asks your opinion on a proposed student services fee for 2026. Link to current
fees The survey wil take approximately 10 minutes. This survey response is anonymous,
however if you wish to enter into a draw for a pair of Apple Airpod-pro's, one of four Massey
hoodies or one of 10 $50 Prezzy Card vouchers, you are asked to supply your Student ID and
contact details at the end of the survey. Your details wil only be used for the purposes of
selecting and notifying hoodie/voucher winners. If you experience any issues accessing and
completing this survey, please contact [email address]

Intro 2 Al universities in Aotearoa New Zealand charge compulsory student services fees under
specific guidance provided by the Government. These non-tuition fees are included in StudyLink
loans. At Massey these funds are allocated in line with categories which fit within the following
government requirements. Our funded areas include: 1. Representation, advocacy and
advice 2. Student to student communication 3. Student development, career and
employment support 4. Student health 5. Student counselling and pastoral
care 6. Clubs, cultural groups, sport and recreation 7. Student achievement support We
are interested in understanding your views on how Massey uses the student services fees to
support your time as a student. Please take the time to tell us what you think! You can find out
more about the student services fee, including how funds were spent in 2024 on the Massey
website. The results of your feedback wil be published on the website mid year and wil
contribute to discussions on how the student services fee is allocated next year. First we are
going to ask you to rate and comment on services that are funded by the student services fee,
and then ask you to identify the percentage of funding that should go to each service. Fol owing
this we wil ask about the proposed fee increase. Fol owing is a list of all the services currently
provided to students with funding from the student services fee. Your students' association Te
Tira Ahu Pae are contracted to deliver some of these services. We know that all students do
not use or can access all services all of the time. Services are offered in a distance format
and/or on-campus location. Consider the student services fee as something similar to paying
rates to a local council.
We are asking you to rank the importance of the service, and
even if you don't use it, we would like to know how important you think the service is to
have available for students. Use N/A if you don't know enough about the service to rate
the importance of it.
