Response to your request for information 
 
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) on 2 September 
to the Minister of Health, Hon Simeon Brown. You requested:  
 
“Please provide al  communication between you and your staff (electorate and 
Ministerial), and between your staff, regarding the signage put up at your office on 2 
September 2025 regarding the nurses’ strike. This includes but is not limited to 
emails, texts, messenger services, recol ections of conversations between your staff, 
and between you and your staff.” 
 
I am interpreting your request for al  communications between Minister Brown and his staff, 
and al  communications between members of the Minister’s staff, as covering 
communications relating to the topic you have raised in their capacity as a Minister of the 
Crown, or as staff working for a Minister of the Crown, as per section 2(a)(i ) of the Act, and 
not communications sent or received by Hon Simeon Brown in his capacity as the Member 
of Parliament for Pakuranga. 
 
As such, section 18(g)(i) of the Act applies as the information you have requested is not held 
by our Office, and we have no grounds for believing that the information is held by another 
department. 
 
Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review any
