Dear Mohammed
Thank you for your request of 3 July 2025 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, under
the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA), for the following information:
1) Why are records suppressed for CUMIN CONSULTING LTD and INTERJECT MEDICAL LIMITED?
2) How many other company records are suppressed on the same basis? Are any of these active?
The answers to your questions are as follows:
1) Mr Cumin had sought to have his residential address suppressed from public view on companies
register on the basis of threats being made against him. The Registrar of Companies (the
Registrar) agreed to suppress the address.
Interject Medical Limited and Cumin Consulting Limited were then removed from the companies
register in December 2013 and December 2017 respectively. The Registrar made the decision to
suppress the entire file of both companies from public view, on the grounds that it would be
unlikely that there would be a need to contact the directors and/or shareholders in relation to
the historic affairs of the companies, and that the possible risk of harm to those parties
outweighed any potential legal risk stemming from the suppression of the information.
2) There are eight other companies whose records have been suppressed on the same basis. No
active companies are suppressed.
Please note that information held about companies with suppressed records remains subject to the OIA,
despite their registrations being suppressed from public view.
