Thank you for your request of 8 September 2025 to Fire and Emergency New Zealand requesting
the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA):

Further to my request, per Appendix Three, would you please supply the fol owing items
mentioned in the email dated 9 July 2025.

2. Cascade Plan
3. Cascade plan for existing aerials feedback from Aerial working group.docx
4. Would you also supply any existing emails regarding the aerial project between 01 July
2025 and 08 September 2025
Please find attached, as an
Appendix to this response, a copy of all information captured by your
request. The
Appendix includes the requested SCOM minutes, any cascade plans, and the
document titled
Cascade plan for existing aerials feedback from Aerial Working group. Some
information has been withheld under the fol owing:
• section 9(2)(a) of the OIA, to protect the privacy of natural persons
• section 9(2)(g)(i) of the OIA, to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the
free and frank expression of opinions by or between or to Ministers of the Crown or
members of an organisation or officers and employees of any public service agency or
organisation in the course of their duty
• section 9(2)(h) of the OIA, to maintain legal professional privilege; and
• section 9(2)(j) of the OIA, to enable a Minister of the Crown or any public service agency or
organisation holding the information to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage,
negotiations (including commercial and industrial negotiations.
We have also withheld a document titled
draft aerial appliance capability strategy in ful under
section 9(2)(f)(iv) of the OIA, to maintain the constitutional conventions for the time being which
protect the confidentiality of advice tendered by Ministers of the Crown and officials.
In making the above decisions we have considered the public interest considerations in section
9(1) of the OIA.
You have the right to request an investigation and review of Fire and Emergency’s decision to
