Response to your request for information Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Minister of
Health, Hon Simeon Brown, on 17 June 2025. The Minister is focused on putting patients
first and delivering access to timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders.
Please find each part of your request addressed below.
Your March (?) 2025 letter to Lester Levy setting out your expectations for Te Whatu
Ora in the delivery of specified priorities and actions over the remainder of this
Parliamentary term was publicly released yesterday.
I am interested in the reasoning and evidence base behind the thirteen "more
specific expectations" you stipulate in the letter.
Please provide copies of all advice received and assessments undertaken that led to
the specific expectations listed in your letter.
This office is advised that information in scope of the above parts of your request is captured
in an upcoming proactive release being prepared by the Public Service Commission. Once
published, these documents will be available at
: www.publicservice.govt.nz/publications. As
the information you seek will soon be publicly available, section 18(d) of the Act applies to
this part of your request.
Further, under item 6, long term contracting, you request a report on operating
principles for long-term contracting of health services from private providers. The
request is that you receive this report in April. I request a copy of that report.
The report requested is contained in the Aide-Memoire:

As such, section 18(d) of the Act also applies to this part of your request.
