Defence Force 
 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 23 May 2025. 
You requested: 
 
I would like to request the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 
from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC): 
-  Copies of any legal advice provided to the Attorney-General since 7 October 2023 
relating to the potential involvement of New Zealand citizens in activities in Gaza that 
may constitute war crimes. 
-  Copies of any meeting agendas, minutes, or notes regarding meetings that have 
been attended by the Attorney-General relating to the potential involvement of New 
Zealand citizens in activities in Gaza that may constitute war crimes. 
-  Copies of any meeting agendas, minutes, or notes regarding meetings that have 
been attended by DMPC staff relating to the potential involvement of New Zealand 
citizens in activities in Gaza that may constitute war crimes. 
 
We have interpreted your request to be for any information relevant to your request above 
that is held by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC).  
 
Searches were completed of our Information Management Systems, and nothing has been 
identified as relevant to your request. Accordingly, your request is refused under section 
18(e) of the Act, as the information requested does not exist.
