Thank you for your email of 20 May 2025 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) 
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:
I  hereby  request  the  following  statistical  information  regarding  Ministerial  Intervention  requests 
made to the Associate Minister of Immigration:
-The total number of Ministerial Intervention requests received each year over the past five years
-The average processing time for these requests
-A breakdown of submitter types: applicants themselves, lawyers, or licensed immigration advisers
-A breakdown by nationality of the applicants
-The outcome of the requests: number approved vs not approved
-The top three most common reasons for requests being declined
This letter is to notify you that MBIE is transferring the request to the Associate Minister of Immigration, Hon 
Chris Penk in accordance with section 14(b)(ii) of the Act, which allows me to transfer any request that is 
believed to be more closely aligned with the functions of another department, organisation or Minister of 
the Crown.
