Request for information 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 14 May 2025 in which 
you requested: 
The date(s) a search of former Deputy Commissioner Jevon McSkimming's 
electronic devices or devices linked to him took place. (such as his work 
computer) 
The date Mr. McSkimming or his lawyer was informed that pornography was 
found on devices linked to him. 
Please note - In recognition of the ongoing investigation there are no further 
details or information being sought. Simply two dates, which have no bearing on 
his status given he has resigned and no impact at al  on the ongoing 
investigation. 
You wil  be aware of media reports that Mr McSkimming is the subject of a current 
investigation. Police has previously publicly advised it is not in a position to comment 
further on any investigation. 
Police considers there are good reasons for withholding any details of the investigation, 
on the basis that its release would be likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law. Your 
request is therefore refused under section 6(c) of the OIA. 
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision if you are not satisfied 
with the response to your request. Information about how to make a complaint is available 
at: www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
