Thank you for your email to the Ministry of Social Development dated 9 April 2025. In your 
email, you asked the Ministry: 
I would like to know the current member of Social Workers Complaints and 
Disciplinary Tribunal and their term of appointment. Please label them if 
they are chair, vice-chair or lay member etc. 
Their job description, pay rate and how many days they attend Social 
Workers Complaints and Disciplinary Tribunal business each year since 1st 
Jan 2020. 
Are you anticipate to call any public expression of interest this year? 
As you know, on 29 April 2025 the Ministry transferred your question about “how many days 
[the Tribunal members] attend Social Workers Complaints and Disciplinary Tribunal business 
each year since 1st Jan 2020” to the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB). 
 
We have now prepared our response to your question. Please find this below. 
 
Days and hours spent by Tribunal members on Tribunal business 
The time that Tribunal members spend on Tribunal business can be recorded in either days or 
hours. Where a Tribunal member reports working six hours or more in one day, they will be 
recorded as having worked one day; where they report working less than six hours in one day, 
their time is recorded in hours. 
 
At Appendix 1, please find a table of the total days and hours that the members of the 
Tribunal collectively spent on Tribunal business each year since 2020. The number of hours 
collectively spent on Tribunal business should be read as being in addition to the number of 
days collectively spent on Tribunal business.
