INFORMATION REQUEST
On 21 February 2025 you asked for a list of al TCC staff benefits. Here is our response to
your questions:
1. Can you supply me with a list of all TCC staff benefits including insurance,
public transport and please include any discounts offered by CCOs including
speedway passes, ClubFit memberships, discounts at Bay Venues cafes etc
Tauranga City Council provides employees with a smal number of employment
benefits which help promote wel being and assist in attracting and retaining talented
staff.
This includes:
Access to a group life insurance policy which provides permanent staff
with up to $100,000 cover for terminal il ness or loss of life.
Subsidised Bee Card to access public transport for limited work-related
travel (to and from work).
An additional week of annual leave (five weeks' total).
Contribution of up to $5,000 for staff returning from Parental Leave.
Annual flu vaccination, contribution towards eye examinations and
prescription glasses; and subsidised physiotherapy massage.
Salary advance for staff to purchase a bike (including e-bike) or scooter.
Membership to the Boost Employee Benefits package (myboost.co.nz) for
staff to access discounts from a range of nationwide retailers.
A smal number of gyms (including ClubFit), hospitality and retail venues promote
their services to staff at a discounted or special rate. Tauranga City Council does not
negotiate these deals for its employees; these are subject to change at the discretion
of the business offering the special rate.
This request and the response have been considered under the LGOIMA.1
