Request for Information
I refer to your email dated 7 February 2025 requesting a copy of all the source
documents received that led to the publishing of the statement: "Boyce (Boycey),
Lindon (Phil Mauger Endorsed - Independent)”. Your request has been referred to me
to reply.
Please find attached all documents that fall within the scope of your request. You wil
see from these documents that initially it was claimed Phil Mauger had endorsed the
candidate, but subsequent correspondence clarified this situation. Public information
was corrected once this clarification was received.
You wil be aware that if you are not satisfied with this response, you are able to refer
this matter to the Of ice of the Ombudsman under s27 (3) of the Local Government
Of icial Information and Meetings Act 1987.

Please find the updated documents for Lindon Boyce – Chch Central.
I would like to note that we have included the email that was sent from Phil Maugers’ campaign
manager to our Deputy Electoral Officer asking us to remove all of the information referring to
Phil Mauger as an endorser.
This replaces all previous information sent earlier today at 4:58pm, please destroy all other
copies of the Nomination form and letter of endorsement appropriately.

Thank you for emailing so quickly.
I can confirm that we have removed Phil’s name from the online list of candidates and from all
our documentation including the Nomination form that will be available to the public.
I have spoken to Anthony Morton (our Electoral Officer at electionz.com) and told him of the
situation. We are sending new documentation through to them that will have no mention of Phil
within it. When we proof our booklet, we will be vigilant to ensure Phil’s name does not appear.

I have copied Phil into this email.
As you have seen Phil did not sign that letter and he is NOT endorsing Lindon Boyce. Can all
reference to this please be removed immediately.
Can you please acknowledge receipt of this email and that Phil’s name will NOT be connected to
Lindon’s nomination in print, online or anywhere.
