Request for Information Regarding Access to a Private TikTok Account for Investigation Purposes and monitoring
Dear Sir/Madam,
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I am writing to request the following information in relation to the investigation involving [name of the individual, or specific identifying details] and the monitoring or access to their private social media account, specifically their TikTok account.
1. Warrant: A copy of any search warrant, court order, or legal authorization obtained by the New Zealand Police to access the private TikTok account of patchynewzealand for the purposes of investigation or monitoring.
2. Subpoena: A copy of any subpoena issued to TikTok or other third parties to request personal information or content from the TikTok account of [name of the individual], including any communication with TikTok or related entities that authorized the disclosure of this data.
3. Personal Consent: A copy of any written consent or authorization obtained from Patrick thomas granting permission for New Zealand Police to access or monitor their private TikTok account. Please provide any documents, both verbal, written or otherwise that show the consent was voluntary and legally obtained.
4. Investigation Details: Any further documentation or records related to the investigation of Patrick Thomas particularly concerning the monitoring or accessing of their private social media accounts or tracking of their movements, without their consent or without a warrant.
I would appreciate it if you could provide the requested information or explain why any part of it may not be disclosed, with reference to the relevant sections of the Official Information Act 1982.
If any of the requested information is held by another agency, I would appreciate it if you could forward this request to the relevant agency or provide their contact details. Attached is email commuinication between myself and sgt hickey where he openly admits monitoring my private tiktok account for over 3 months.
I understand that the Official Information Act 1982 requires a response within 20 working days, and I look forward to receiving your reply in that timeframe.
