Official information request regarding hardship scholarship applications 
 
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) 
dated 10 January 2025: 
 
“Please provide the number of total applicants to all scholarships flagged as 
hardship for the 2019-2025 educational years.” 
 
On 16 January 2025 you confirmed you were seeking information on scholarships 
regarding financial hardship. 
 
The information you requested is attached. Please note, we have provided the total 
number of applications (including incomplete applications) for scholarships that list 
facing financial hardship as a mandatory eligibility criteria. We have not included 
scholarships where financial hardship is not an essential or primary consideration. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of the 
decisions made regarding this request. Information about how to make a complaint is
