Re: Dangerous, Affected & Insanitary
Thank you for your email dated 08 January 2025 requesting information on:
1. List of all NTF for dangerous or insanitary buildings since 2020
2. List of all NTF for dangerous or insanitary buildings prior to 2020 that have a status of
‘Active, New or Outstanding’.
Please find attached the information pertaining to your request for information relating to
NTF for dangerous or insanitary buildings.
Some of the information you requested is not held in an easily accessible format and would
require substantial collation. For this reason, the following parts of your request are being
withheld under section 17(f) Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
as the information requested cannot be made available without substantial collation or
research.
1. The specific classification (dangerous, affected, or insanitary) and the reasons for this
determination
2. Which specific powers under Section 124(2) of the Building Act 2004 were exercised by
Council, including:
• Whether hoarding or fencing was erected [s124(2)(a)]
• Whether warning notices were attached [s124(2)(b)]
• Whether work notices were issued [s124(2)(c)]
• Whether entry restriction notices were issued [s124(2)(d)]
3. The current status of each building, including:
• Whether the issues have been resolved
• If resolved, the date of resolution
• If not resolved, the current state of compliance with any notices issued
4. Whether any court orders under Section 126 were sought or obtained
Auckland council’s system is not set up to break down the data as requested. A manual
search of each property will have to be done, this will result in substantial collation.
