Masons Screen - Mark Williams, Circuit Artist Moving Image.
Report back on annual funding and discussion regarding future funding.
Hui 2 – Discussion and Decision
The panel agreed to continue to support Circuit through a 3-year agreement with the duration
of video works to be increased to 6 weeks. City Arts will review the budget and finalise details
with Circuit directly. City Arts noted there may be a need to further increase the budget to
accommodate increased fees for artists including the three commissions, Matariki
curator/artist commission fees and other running costs.
The PSR team manages the maintenance of the infrastructure. Karl Noldan will arrange an
onsite meeting with a contractor, Circuit and City Arts to look at maintenance and upgrading
the equipment and site. Improving internet connection to enable remote access will be
explored, along with addressing the other issues raised by Circuit in the report presentation.
The panel also discussed opportunities to further celebrate and increase the visibility of
Masons Screen including through WCC social media. Exploring future opportunities to show
or reshow the artists’ videos was also discussed.
