Thank you for your request to the Department of Conservation, received on 02 December
2024, in which you asked for:
‘a copy of all emails sent and received between DOC and Pure Turoa Managers or
Directors for three months September to November 2024.’
We have considered your request under the Of icial Information Act 1982.
On 15 January 2025 we extended the timeframe to respond to your request to 12 February
2025 due to the consultation necessary to respond to your request.
The documents scheduled for release are listed in Table 1 – Schedule of documents at the
end of this response. Please note that the Department does not hold any in scope material
for the month of November.
I have decided to release the relevant parts of the documents, subject to information being
withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Of icial Information Act – to protect the privacy of natural
persons, including deceased people.
In making my decision, I have considered the public interest considerations in section 9(1) of
the Official Information Act and determined there are no public interests that outweigh the
grounds for withholding.
You are entitled to seek an investigation and review of my decision by writing to an
Ombudsman as provided by section 28(3) of the Of icial Information Act.
