Thank you for your email of 14 November 2024 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City
Council (the Council) requesting the fol owing information:
• All internal communications (including emails, texts, WhatsApp messages, signal
messages, Facebook messenger, summaries of any cal s) sent/ received by her
worship the Mayor between 1 July 2024 and 30 September 2024.
Your request has been considered under the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).
As per my email dated 19 November and fol ow up on 21 November 2024, we requested
that you refine your request. This is due to the Mayor receiving a number of correspondence
through many avenues. We requested that you narrower your scope of information to a
refined period, correspondence between individuals or teams, specific documents, or
specific topics as the.
As the Council has not received any further refinement, we have refused your request under
section 17(f) of the LGOIMA that the information requested cannot be made available
without substantial col ation or research. Under section 17B of the LGOIMA the Council has
considered charging or extending the timeframe however a request this large would impact
the daily operation of the Council.
You can re-submit a refined request for information; however, the 20-working day period
would start again.
As per section 7(1) of the LGOIMA, I do not consider that in the circumstances of this
response, the withholding of this information is outweighed by the other considerations
which render it desirable to in the public interest to make the information available.
You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(1) of the LGOIMA, to request an
investigation and review of the Council’s decision by the Ombudsman. Information about
