Request made under the Official Information Act 1982
Thank you for your email of 4 November 2024 requesting the following information relating to the
Teitei Drive upgrade works under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
1. Copy(s) of the funding application(s) for the work upgrading of Teitei Drive
2. Copy of the independent Engineer’s certification (including design basis) to demonstrate that
the design meets the appropriate recognised roading standard to cater for the road catchment
3. Copy of the works contract documents
4. Copy of the independent Engineer’s certification (including associated field loggings etc) of
each stage of the construction works
5. Copy of NZTA’s consent to the design, location and work’s completion of the intersection with
SH49
6. Copy of any correspondence, notes and the like between NZTA and third party(s) including
RDC and within NZTA regarding the following:
•
Any consents permitting the encroachment of the Teitei Drive outside of the designated
public road at the intersection with SH49,
•
Any consents granted to permit the construction of the carpark and toilets within the
Gazetted Recreation Reserve,
•
Any consideration that the works located within Ohakune Domain comply, or not comply,
with the provisions of the Reserves Act,
•
Any “relaxing” of acceptable, recognised road design standards for Teitei Drive to not
cater for the potential usage of this public road, ie. 150 residential lots plus the Ohakune
Domain usage.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) did not receive any funding application for the project in
question from Ruapehu District Council, and we do not hold any documents requested under points 1
to 6 of your request.
I am therefore refusing your request under section 18(e) of the Act as the documents alleged to
contain the information requested does not exist or, despite reasonable efforts to locate it, cannot be
found.
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to refuse
