Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request dated 20 August 2024.
You requested:
According to a previous request, as of 2021, there were 6470 firearms in
operational service with the Police. Only firearms meeting this definition of “in
operational services” are within the scope of my request.
Please provide further details about these firearms including the manufacturer,
model and calibre of each type of ammunition used by police and how many of
each type are assigned to each district, specialist squad or other designated unit.
The information requested is provided in Table 1 below for the firearms that are in
operational service by Police.

refused under section 6(c) of the OIA as the making available of that information would be
likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and
detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial.
