Thank you for your email on 8 August 2024, asking Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora for the
following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
My request asks for the costs and length of lease for four of Wellington Health buildings -
133 Molesworth Street, ACC building, Spark Buildings and Tory Street building.
In the process of Health Cost cutting, did the Minister considered having all staff in 133
Molesworth as most of their staff are working remotely and our last visit to 133 Molesworth
and questioning to some staff confirmed most of the building is usually empty.
Response
Health New Zealand inherited several leases when we amalgamated into one organisation. As
leases expire, we intend to consolidate our property footprint and ensure we are getting value for
money in our property spend.
Please see the table below, which shows the total lease costs per annum as well as the expiry
date for the leases you have requested.
To date, Health NZ have had no requests from the Minister regarding office accommodation.

* Health NZ occupies space at 133 Molesworth Street from the Ministry of Health who hold the
lease. The figure in the table represents the allocation of space that Health New Zealand occupy
as a percentage of the total lease costs.
