Official Information Act request: Delegation and advice for visit to Japan
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), received
on 24 June 2024. You requested:
“1.
How were the NZ delegation to Japan in June 2024 chosen? Please provide
any criteria that was used and/or considered.
2. Can you also provide a copy of all advice you received regarding the trip to
Japan and the delegation.”
I believe that part of your request is more closely connected to the functions of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and Trade. Accordingly, I have decided to transfer question 1 of your request
to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act. The other parts
of your request have not been transferred, and I will respond in due course.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has the usual time limits from receipt of this
transfer to make a decision on your request.

from James Webb. The request was for:

I believe that part of the request is more closely connected to the functions of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and Trade. Accordingly, I have decided to transfer question 1 of the request
to you, as Chief Executive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade under section 14(b)(ii)
of the Act. The other parts of the request have not been transferred to you.
