number of referrals from the Privacy Commissioner 
 
I refer to your request for information sent to us by email on Wednesday 12 June 2024.  Thank 
you for your interest in this aspect of our work.  Although we are not required to, we have in 
the  past  included  this  information  in  our  Annual  Reporting  to  the  Minister  of  Justice.    Our 
Annual Report is contained within a section of the Annual Report submitted by Te Kāhui Tika 
Tangata ǀ Human Rights Commission.   
 
You have asked two questions, copied verbatim, as follows:

Would you please advise how many referrals by the Privacy Commissioner to the Director under the 
Privacy Act have been made for each complete financial year from 2019/20 onwards. 
 
Question Two 
 
Please also advise the number of referrals so far in the near-complete 2023/24 year.
