Parks and Open Spaces, Operations and Maintenance Contract Renewal

That Kaipara District Council: 
a)  Approves awarding the Maintenance of Parks, Reserves, Cemeteries, Public 
Toilets, Buildings and Gardens contract to Downer New Zealand Ltd for the 
sum of $5,426,134.15 (GST exclusive) for a period of two (2) years and eight 
(8) months from the 1st of November 2022 to 30 June 2025.  This includes an 
additional $400,000 to the tendered sum for the duration of the contract 
period.  This sum wil  be used at the discretion of Kaipara District Council for 
unforeseen activities. In addition, the contract also allows for further 
extensions of one (1) + one (1) year(s) at Council’s discretion. 
b)  Delegates the Chief Executive to appoint Downer New Zealand Ltd as the 
Parks and Open Spaces Operations and Maintenance Contractor for 2 years 
and 8 months contract and approve the contract extensions. 
c)  Notes that the decision wil  be made public by 31 October 2022, once all 
procurement processes have been completed and relevant parties notified.
