Dear Luke,
I refer to your initial request dated 22 April 2015, seeking, under the Official Information Act
1982 (the Act) the following information:

Minutes of CIIL board meetings during the period 1 September 2013 to 31 July 2014
•
Documents related to due diligence on the Central Plains Water investment prepared
between March and July 2014 (described on the CIIL website at
http://www.crownirrigation.co.nz/investment/central-plains-water/)
Answers to the following questions:
•
How many registrations of interest from prospective irrigation schemes have been
received since CIIL was established?
•
What remuneration do CIIL board members receive (either per year or per meeting)?
•
What is the procedure for assessing conflicts of interest between board members and
proposed investments?
•
Have any CIIL board members recused themselves from decisions or votes on the
Central Plains Water investment for reasons of conflicts of interest?
Our initial response noted that there were a significant number of documents within the
scope of request. The request was revised, with your agreement on 19 May 2015, as follows:

The approvals from the Crown Irrigation Investments Limited (CIIL) Board meeting
minutes which relate to the Board’s decision to invest in the Central Plains Water
irrigation scheme (CPW)
•
A copy of the CIIL Board interests register.
Answers to the following questions:
•
How many registrations of interest from prospective irrigation schemes have been
received since CIIL was established?
•
What is the procedure for assessing conflicts of interest between board members and
proposed investments?
•
Have any CIIL board members recused themselves from decisions or votes on the
Central Plains Water investment for reasons of conflicts of interest?
