Re: Consultation on Bin removals - Puketepapa
Thank you for your email of 1 March 2024. Your specific request and our response are set
out below.
I am requesting information on what consultation was taken with the Puketāpapa Local
Board regarding the bin removals that have taken place in 2024. I would like to see:
1) Workshop records recording any decisions made by the board about location of bin
removals
2) Business meeting decisions (if any) recording the above decisions
3) Any emails where Local Board members made decisions about the removal of bins
4) Any advice given about Local Board members using their budget to keep bins (as has
been done by Manurewa Local Board)

Workshop records recording any decisions made by the board about location of bin
removals.
We have attached the Puketāpapa Local Board workshop presentation materials
for Thursday, 8 June 2023 from Parks and Community Facilities noting no decision was
made at this workshop (attached folder 2).
Business meeting decisions (if any) recording the above decisions – Puketāpapa Local
Board held an additional business meeting on 11 May 2023 to provide their local board
feedback to the Governing Body regarding Annual Budget but no feedback/decisions on bin
removals. The minutes from the Puketāpapa additional business meeting where item 11:

Any emails where Local Board members made decisions about the removal of bins –
attached is email communication from departments within the organisation to the local board
members – no decisions were made by board members (attached folder 1).
Any advice given about Local Board members using their budget to keep bins (as has been
done by Manurewa Local Board) – advice from officers regarding bin removals was provided
at the 8 June 2023 Puketāpapa Local Board workshop but not recorded.
The decision by Auckland Council to release the information contained in this response was
made by
Nina Siers, Local Area Manager.
