I refer to your follow up request for information dated 1 February 2024 made under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act). You have requested: 
 
The top 280 confirmed individual-level grade averages across the HSFY semester 1 and 2 
papers for 2022, with the addition of the grades of 2022 HSFY students enrolled in MAOR192 
or STAT115 in semester 2, into their overall Top 7 paper average across semesters 1 and 2. 
Essentially requested the Top 7 paper average for 2022 HSFY students enrolled in CHEM191, 
PHSI191, HUBS191, CELS191, BIOC192, HUBS192, POPH192 AND/OR STAT115, MAOR192. 
 
 
Subject to the following comments, please see below our response to your request. 
 
 
•  We note we contacted you 2 February 2024 to clarify your request, as the University of Otago 
does not offer a paper with the paper code MAOR192. We note we have not heard back from 
you to clarify your request. We have decided to include both MAOR102 and MAOR110 (Māori 
Studies papers offered as HSFY optional 8th papers) in our calculations for your request. 
 
•  The data provided is correct as at 21 February 2024. 
 
•  The below table shows the cumulative individual average academic scores for the top 284 
students enrolled in HSFY in 2022 across the best 7 paper results, including the HSFY optional 
8th paper where that paper is one of STAT115, MAOR102, or MAOR110. 
 
•  The data is limited to domestic students only. 
 
•  The data is limited to students specifically enrolled in the HSFY programme only. Students 
enrolled in all of these papers under another programme (e.g., a Bachelor of Science) are
