Response to your request for Official Information 
 
On  9  December  2023,  you  requested  the  following  information  from  Te  Kāhui  Tika 
Tangata | Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) under the Official Information 
Act 1982 (“OIA”), with reference to an award given to BP Moerewa by the Commission 
which is mentioned in this article: 
Can  you  please  provide  a  copy  of  the  'award'  and  any  related  minutes  / 
resolutions  /  materials  (such  as  press  releases)  that  relates  to  that  article  in 
Mana Magazine. 
In response to your request, the Commission searched our records for any information 
held about the award given to BP Moerewa. Accordingly, we enclose: 
•  a copy of the certificate awarded to BP Moerewa in October 2004 
•  a report published by the Commission entitled ‘Race Relations in 2004’, which 
mentions the award at p.57.  
We confirm that the Commission no longer holds any further information about the 2004 
award such as meeting minutes or Board resolutions.1
