Thank you for your email on 21 November 2023, asking for the following in relation to the financial
aspects of healthAlliance under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
1. Funding Insights: I'm curious about the various sources that contribute to healthAlliance's
funding. Could you share details about where the funding comes from, including
government allocations, service fees, or any other significant revenue sources?
2. Financial Overview: For a broader understanding, I would love to see the most recent
financial statements or annual reports. It would help me get a sense of how healthAlliance
manages its financial resources.
3. Spending Breakdown: I'm particularly interested in how the budget is allocated and
spent. Could you provide a breakdown of the last year's expenditures, especially
highlighting areas like operational costs, service provision, and staff remuneration?
4. Resource Allocation: Lastly, I'm curious about how funds are distributed across the
various services and projects healthAlliance undertakes, especially in support of the District
Health Boards.
In response to your request, Te Whatu Ora refers you to the
healthAlliance NZ Limited Financial
Statement 30 June 2022 document, enclosed as
Attachment 1.
On 27 June 2022, healthAlliance was absorbed into Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand by the
Health Sector Transfers (District Health Board Shared Services Agencies to Health New Zealand)
Order 2022.
In addition to Attachment 1, please note that the entities previous annual report was for year end
30 June 2021, and was published on the New Zealand Parliament websit
e here.
With regards your specific requests:
1. Funding Insights: I'm curious about the various sources that contribute to healthAlliance's

Attachment 1 and the Annual Report to the year ended 30 June 2021 are the most recent
financial statement and annual report.

4. Resource Allocation: Lastly, I'm curious about how funds are distributed across the various
services and projects healthAlliance undertakes, especially in support of the District Health Boards.
Funds were deployed by healthAlliance in support of the former District Health Boards by a
strategy-setting and executive decision-making model of governance and operations
described in pages 1 – 14 of the Annual Report to 30 June 2021.
