Thank you for your information request dated 14 November 2023, regarding skateparks in 
East Auckland. The specific details of your request and our response is below. 
 
We are conducting reports on the state of the local facilities in east Auckland and 
would like to please request the below info relating

  * We are unable to retrieve the records as the installation predates the amalgamation of 
Auckland Council. Historic records prior to Amalgamation are difficult to locate due to 
system changes.      
 
3)  Since being built, can you please advise the amount of money spent on each of 
these areas and to include any maintenance, repairs/renewals include the costs of 
custodians/supervisor that may be linked to any of these areas potentially under 
another item/name/number. a year-by-year breakdown would be appreciated

Auckland Council’s maintenance contracts are paid on an outcome basis and are 
calculated across all Auckland Council managed assets. As we do not pay per asset, 
therefore, we are unable to provide a breakdown for maintenance costs per skate park. 
 
However please find below the costs from the Parks and Community Facilities 
department relating to the capital spend on the renewal of skate facilities at each park. 
Please note these costs provided are since the current project management software 
was introduced in 2016.

There is a live renewal project for Lloyd Elsmore Park with a total renewal budget of 
$740,000. This project intends to reach practical completion in Financial Year (FY) 25. 
 
There have been no renewals of skate facilities at Logan Carr Reserve, Botany Downs, 
Wellington Street, Howick Domain and Nixon Pump Track, Howick. 
 
Howick Local Board have provided $65,000 per annum for a skate park custodian 
service at Barry Curtis Park for the last five years. 
 
The decision by Auckland Council to release the information contained in this response was 
made by Taryn Crewe, General Manager Parks and Community Facilities.   
 
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request you 
have the right to seek a review of the decision from the Ombudsman.
