Official information request dated 13 November 2023 re the National Provident 
Fund Board of Trustees 
I refer to your official information request dated 13 November 2023, which you followed 
up on 14 December 2023. An excerpt of your request is attached as Appendix 1. 
The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 
working days after the day we received your request.  
Please accept our apologies for not having addressed your request. Unfortunately, we 
did not receive notification from the FYI website. Your request was brought to our 
attention yesterday by the Office of the Ombudsman stating they had received a 
complaint from you. Upon receipt of the email from the Office of the Ombudsman we 
checked the FYI website and noted your request. 
We are writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to 31 
March 2024. We will endeavour to provide the requested information before then if 
possible. 
This extension is necessary because it will take us time to collate the requested 
information. 
In addition, I note that you requested full board meeting minutes from 1 January 2021 
to 1 November 2023. On 27 January 2023, we provided you copies of the Board’s 
minutes for the period from 26 January 2021 to 9 November 2021. This was in response 
to your initial request on 22 August 2021. Can you please confirm that it is acceptable to 
you that we now provide the minutes from 10 November 2021 to 31 December 2023? 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
