“PC49 topics of interest 
 
12. 
There are several sites which are within scope of PC49 with par�cular sensi�vi�es and 
considera�ons which we an�cipate could receive submissions on through PC49. As such, we 
wish to bring these to your aten�on for feedback and direc�on.  
 
13. 
Informal feedback has been received sugges�ng the Silverstream Spur be zoned as Natural 
Open Space. PC49 is not proposing to alter the zoning of the Spur land, which is currently 
zoned as a mix of Residen�al Conserva�on and Rural Hil . The jus�fica�on for not altering 
this zoning is the uncertainty around the future of this area, as it is intrinsical y linked with 
the proposed development of the Southern Growth Area which wil  be considered 
comprehensively as part of Plan Change 50 and which has been iden�fied as a strategic site 
for housing in the Land Use Strategy which was adopted by Council in September 2016.”
