Re: Central Otago Airport Project
Good morning Alexa.
A fortuitous time to hear from you inasmuch as I am in the district again today and most of tomorrow. I could meet
you in Frankston either 11:30 or 2:30 tomorrow if that suited?
Regards
Rhys

Cr Forbes,
Thank you for taking the time to come and listen to us at the Cromwell Business Group discussion
earlier this week.
Michael and I have the good fortune to be regularly in the region and so can arrange to catch up
with you at your convenience.
You indicated that you were interested in some environmental and transport aspects of our project.
We would gladly share our current thinking based on our investigations thus far.

Thanks Alexa. I will try and wrap my head around this “simplified” version.
Hope you are well.

Kia ora Rhys, I was reading interest.co.nz and remembered I was to send you my concerns about hydrogen as a
sustainable, renewable energy. I still can’t see hydrogen as such and this article articulates why not better than I
can. Basically it’s physics and economy – ROI of energy – energy in for energy out. Very interested in your views.
Here’s that article and some others:

I’m happy to read or listen to an alternative view but in the meantime, to me, hydrogen may be the future energy
for planes, but powering planes where not absolutely (existentially) necessary may not be the future.
